Happy New Year!

Happy New Year's greetings for 2015 to all of my dear friends and followers, who have been here with love and kindness to support me throughout 2014. I wish you a wonderful New Year's Eve and as the clock strikes Midnight may you share this special moment with those you love, whether it is with family, friends or that special person in your life.
May the coming year be one of peace, good health, love and happiness. Please keep some love and compassion in your hearts for those who will not be with their families and loved ones to see in this New Year.

I  found this great article on the Internet and I wanted to share it with you here

"Another year starts and with it, new hopes and aspirations – a faint desire that sprouts in every human heart that speaks of happiness, prosperity and goodness to come.

The year gone-by might have shown a grim state of affairs around the world with stories of bloodshed, tragedy and human failures never ceasing to seize the headlines.
But the excitement of a new year brings about an anticipation of a better future. This is one real moment that will touch the fabric of human emotions that entails not only hope, but a reason to keep smiling and living life as it is."

So please lets keep this anticipation alive for a better future and a more peaceful and tolerant existence for all of mankind.

Much love to all, Dianne

A Winter Poem and Reflection

In the stillness of the morning
Snow has fallen all around
No sweet songs of birds calling
They await the suns first rays
Soon the dawn will streak the sky
Colouring it with the warmest glow
Shades of gold fade into softest blue
And tint the snow a pinkish hue
Still no sound can be heard
Just the silence of the snow ...

I have only had the experience of real snow once in my lifetime; it was many years back in time. I was driving through the New South Wales countryside, a place called Armidale on the New England Highway; a very rural place back then. It was late Winter, early Spring, it was morning and I was driving slowly because of the slippery road. Up ahead I noticed a farm fence close to the road and there sheltered beneath some branches of wattle trees were some sheep with their new lambs close by. They looked so lovely, so I parked my car further along and walked back. It began to snow, these soft white flakes floating down silently from the sky, falling gently on my face and I was catching them in my hands, cool and wet. Such a magical feeling in this place of silence. I walked back to the lambs to get closer, they were a little hesitant at first but as I put my hand out to pat them, they nuzzled at my fingers and started bleating. Their little faces were soft and warm, I had this overwhelming feeling of happiness, it was just wonderful. I do hope I see the magic of the snow again and hear its silence.

Memories So Dear ...

Though time fades away memories
And lessens the pain of loss
I still remember your warmth
When once you were my friend
The feeling of faith I held
Trusting you would always be there
Nothing can take the past
Nor remove it from my heart
Something of you stays with me
Even now that you have gone
I hold onto those memories so dear
Though faded as if in a dream
They will follow me through the years
Until all memory has gone
Sometimes I sense your presence
Your light, it feels so near
But it is probably just an echo
From another place in time ...
