Happy New Year

Happy New Year greetings for 2014 to all of my dear friends, followers who have become like family and my new followers. As the clock strikes midnight tonight may you share this special moment with those you love, whether it is with family, friends or with that one special person in your life. May the coming year be one of peace, good health, love and happiness. Please keep some love and compassion in your hearts for those who will not be with their families and loved ones to see in this New Year, those people who are alone and those who are homeless and have no-one to care for them.

My love and best wishes to all

Christmas Greetings

To wish you all a very Merry Christmas as you spend this special time with your loved ones, families and friends.
Thank you my dear friends for all of your kind comments and support throughout a year which has been difficult for me, your love, warmth and friendship has meant so much to me.
I have chosen these images for they have a feeling of coolness to them, the weather here is unbearably hot. I was hoping for a White Christmas, one day perhaps but for now these images will be just fine.

Love and best wishes, Dianne ... ♥

Places In My Heart

There are places in my heart
Where wounds wait to heal
The hurt cuts so deeply
I need a reprieve
Memories bring thoughts of you
But still you are not near
I cannot feel your presence
For me you are not here
The silence of the darkness
Alone with my tears
That feeling of exclusion
Because you are never here
You asked me to write for you
To alleviate your pain
But my words go unnoticed
They are written in vain
You said the heart is everything
Well yes it is to me
If you ever read my words
You would feel what they reveal
But your presence eludes me
And my words go unseen
So I sit in this room of wait
Hoping you will return
Out of the quiet and darkness
To feel your warmth again ...

Love After Love

The time will come
when, with elation
you will greet yourself arriving
at your own door, in your own mirror
and each will smile at the other's welcome,
and say, sit here. Eat.

You will love again the stranger who was your self.
Give wine. Give bread. Give back your heart
to itself, to the stranger who has loved you
all your life, whom you ignored
for another, who knows you by heart.

Take down the love letters from the bookshelf,
the photographs, the desperate notes,
peel your own image from the mirror.
Sit. Feast on your life.

The Silence of Absence

The silence of your absence
Is a lonely place to be
Disappointment
My companion
Since you went away
Memories of your words
Are with me every day
Like echoes in my heart
Of some lost melody
From the shadows of silence
I look for you each day
I wonder where you are
When you go away
And what always keeps you
From returning to me
I see shadows of your presence
But so far away from me
Have you nothing left at all
Nothing left to say
Friendship is forever
That is what I believed
But I wonder now
Since you have gone away
Still I wait beneath our tree
Hoping you will return
Where you placed
In its deepest heart
Your precious words to me
That place you may return to
If you think of me some day
A place you may remember
If I'm in your thoughts
One day...

After The Rain ...

After so many days and nights
Of unforgiving heat
Finally a sound once familiar
Hoped for, wished for.
From a soft morning sky
Of grey and mist
Rain falling, falling
The air is fresh and cool once more
Scented with the sweet fragrance
Of rain, foliage and flowers
In this misty light-
The colours take on a softer hue
Brown will soon return to green.
The parched earth
Dry and thirsty
Drinks rapturously.
Languid leaves and foliage
Glisten again
The trees revive, sigh
Refreshed
Their thirst quenched.
From small pools
Rivulets form and flow
To the lower reaches
Of the valley.
Their journey fulfilled
To replenish and swell
The dry creek beds
And the water of life will flow once again ...
