Lost Memories

As time steals away memory
How can I hold you in my heart
The distance between us
Ever widening, forever apart
Take me back to the beginning
To that moment of our start
When we first began our journey
Of warm words and gentle hearts
The path held much promise
Of a destiny unknown
Together we would find it
The happiness our own
Something precious to hold on to
A chance for love to grow
A time to make our memories
In Love's happy glow...
What happened to our story
Where did it go
Why your sudden change of heart
How will I ever know?
Now it all seems so distant
A fading memory from the past
Taken by the shadows of time
As I walk the path alone...

Memories of Flowers

Memories of flowers
I gathered just for you
In your darkest hours
I cared for you
I reached out to help you
And show you the way
To light your direction
To the path of better days
To show you there was hope
Beyond the shadows and the gray
To lift the clouds of sadness
And take the darkness away
To fill your heart with sunshine
And melt the cold away
To help you find the happiness
You thought lost and gone away
And with the kindest heart
Breathe new life into your days ...

The End

If I could have put you in my heart,
If but I could have wrapped you in myself,
How glad I should have been!
And now the chart
Of memory unrolls again to me
The course of our journey here, before we had to part.

And oh, that you had never, never been

Some of your selves, my love, that some
Of your several faces I had never seen!
And still they come before me, and they go,
And I cry aloud in the moments that intervene.

And oh, my love, as I rock for you to-night,

And have not any longer any hope
To heal the suffering, or make requite
For all your life of asking and despair,
I own that some of me is dead tonight.

My Puppeteer

You who were once here
You who were my friend
You who were so kind
Have gone away
Without a word of farewell, no Goodbye.
Discarded until another day
Am I a memory long forgotten?
With you, you took my hopes and dreams
Did you not think that your words would bind my heart to you?
I remain a prisoner of my feelings for you
I am your puppet, your sad clown
You still control the strings that animate me
Could you not feel this heart that beats beneath my breast?
The beauty from within...
My face with no expression
But for the remnant of a tear...
I am suspended in a state of eternal sadness
Reaching out to you
Always hoping for some sign from you
That I still exist for you
That you are my friend
A kind word, a gesture, anything
To bring some hope to my heart.
If you do not want me
If you do not care anymore
If I am not to be a part of your world
Then tell me, just say the words
Don't keep me in this state of endless silence
My heart is breaking slowly
For want of your attention
Release me from these strings
Release me from these ties that bind my heart to yours
And set me free ...

Your Words

Your words once spoken
Echo again
Across time and space
In a gentle voice
To awaken my heart
The images never forgotten
Take me to the beauty
The essence
Of places far away
Exotic, fragrant, alive
With the resonance of life
All the more precious
For the presence of you
The music that is you
Encloses me
Surrounds me
Encompasses my heart
In a melody once lost
Waiting to be found
Memories come back to me
In waves of thoughts
Love and warmth
Feelings of you
In my times of solitude
Alone without you
They haunt me
And leave me with a feeling of want
Of longing, of need
And I find myself loving you still
Still more and again
You were the colour in my world
You were my light
I am a prisoner
Of my feelings for you
And I cannot escape
Your words, the feelings, the music
All that is you
I cannot forget you
So don't ask me to
I need you even more
I want you again ...
